Description

.The Checked Balaclava | green cream and orange is a warm hat that protects ears and neck from the wind and the cold. The hat is sewed, washed and felted by Pepa at her Rotterdam studio, only using the best parts of the vintage woolen blanket. The Checked Balaclava can be worn in three ways; loose or buttoned up, or flap the sides up with one button attached to create a short beanie.

This alternative ‘loggers’ hat is ideal for autumn walks or bike rides and suits both men and women. The head size for a snug fit is circa 59 cm but suits smaller heads too; then it is a bit roomier. We make this hat in other sizes as long as the material is available. Every item we will make from this particular blanket will have a different apparel.

Tip:

The Checked Balaclava | green cream and orange is already pre-shrunk so you can wash the hat in steamy hot water. I advise you to wash it by hand and not to let it soak. After a short wash with mild soap, like Savon d’Alep, rinse the hat with cold water. Then put it in the centrifuge or just let it dry and now here is my secret tip for a perfect fit: wear the hat while still damp; you can mold it on your head. Cheers!
