The Checkered Bonnet is made from a vintage Dutch blanket. It is made from 100% virgin wool and is a warm hat sewed, washed, and felted at Pepavana’s Studio in Rotterdam.

Description

.The Checkered Bonnet with Velvet Rim is a warm hat made from 100% virgin wool from a vintage blanket.  The original velvet rim of the used blanket is hand stitched all around the edge.  It’s a girly bonnet inspired by the Twenties with a modern twist. The Checkered Bonnet with Velvet Rim protects ears and a part of the neck from the wind and the cold, so it’s ideal for autumn walks or bike rides. For a nice snug fit, choose your head size from the menu or size it up if you want it to be less tight. We make this hat on order as the material is available.

Tip:

The 100% woolen hat is pre-shrunk, so you can wash it in steamy hot water. However, I advise you to wash it by hand and not let it soak. After a short wash with a mild soap, like Savon d’Alep, rinse the hat with cold water. Then, put it in the centrifuge or just let it dry. Here is my secret tip for a perfect fit: wear the hat while still damp; you can mold it on your head for a perfect round shape. Cheers!
